Besides him being a great guy, where he works has given us many opportunities. Every year we get to enjoy the banquet which is a nice date night that only costs us a babysitter. We get to enjoy great food and locations usually at a Marriott Hotel. It is amazing to see families who can drop money like it is nothing. It is fun to sit with first year faculty who do not realize this until there watching the auction! Great for the school and a good cause. This year was good, but in the middle of it the fire alarm went off, so we were outside for a brief time. All was good.
Another advantage are his skills being used for our church youth group. The youth group has a night called Inside Out once a month where they enjoy activities then a devotion. Once Dan started working with the group and they realized he was a PE teacher they asked to come up with some games. He did just that and has really done a great job with pulling in a lot of youth that weren't normally coming, they hear of the fun taking place at Inside Out and wanted to join in. To see high school kids on scooters, how fun is that. Dan's boss has been really great in allowing Dan to use items from school that the church may not have for the night.
