Where were you in August 1993?

I was meeting the love of my life! Today we celebrate 9 years of marriage. Thanks to a blind date set up by our friends, Jay and Cyndi, we started our courtship. We have been through many phases in our 14+ years as a couple. My senior year in HS, all my college years, part of his college years, both at different colleges and first jobs. Then onto marriage, first apartment, first house, infertility and our awesome kids. We both talk all the time, how we feel so blessed to be given the opportunities as a couple. Although there are rough times, we stick to our foundations of God and sense of humor! This gets us through all our rocky patches that have taught us so much about ourselves and a couple.

This was one of our first outings as a couple in downtown Upper Marlboro. Oh the 90's, I think the hair was bigger than in the 80's.

This is our wedding day with the two people who set us up on our blind date. As the story goes, Jay and Cyndi were dating at the time and Dan seem to always be the 3rd wheel. Cyndi said she could introduce him to one of her friends, who just recently broke up her boyfriend. She told him he could be the rebound guy. His words "That's cool, whatever". The rest is history! How could I not fall in love with a genuine romantic. And to this day, he always has something up his sleeve to remind me how awesome he is as a husband!
