Gearing up!

We have busy, has most have been getting ready for CHRISTmas. We are all decorated, done shopping and all wrapped. What a great feeling, to be done the "stuff" so we can use the next couple weeks to concentrate on CHRISTmas celebration of His birth. We are gearing up for our big trip to Florida to visit my brother Rick and family, as well as Dan's 2nd cousin John and family. We have been truly blessed with John's offer of free admission to Disney due to his position. We weren't sure if Disney was going to happen, and then when Dan called to tell him we were coming to FL to visit over Christmas break, he asked us if we wanted to go and that he had the ability to get us in at no charge. That answered the question of whether or not we would go! The kids don't know, so that will be a great surprise!

We had a busy weekend that included a birthday lunch for my Dad, a cookie exchange at Dan's parents and then the Youth Group's Christmas Banquet at our home on Saturday. It turned out really well and everyone had fun playing ping pong, Foosball, DDR, Mr P's movie game, eating, and fellowship. Dan included a devotion and some door prizes and each kid brought canned goods and $ for a family they are helping during Christmas. It is so neat to see that are still some great kids in today's society that gets the real reason for the season. When they made the decision not to do a gift exchange and instead do the donation, not one kid out of 100+ complained.

Today we decided to exchange gifts for our family two fold. One so we didn't have bring gifts down to FL and so that kids could enjoy their gifts for the week since we won't be around. It worked out really well. I will be posting pictures as soon as possible.
