Christmas 2009

We were able to go to my parents for a couple days. While there the kids were able to go visit Santa and give thier lists. Also Mom Mom made some gingerbread men and homemade applesauce. Then we were able to spend some time relaxing including movie night while the kids made a comfy spot on the floor.

Katelynn's piano teacher had her students go to a local nursing home to play some Christmas music for the residents. While we were waiting Dominic did his magic and walked around to each resident and said "Hello, my name is Dominc. What is your name" It really made their day, so neat to see him make others smile. Then Katelynn did her first real playing in front of an audience and she did great.

The kids got their annual PJs on Christmas Eve after our church service. They also enjoyed The Night Before Christmas book which was given to them by my parents. It was awesome because my parents recorded thier voices reading the story. Hallmark makes these great books that record and can't be deleted. As you will see in the photo, Dominic was so surprised when he realized it was Mom mom and Pop pop's voice. We finished the night with Katelynn putting out the raindeer food and glitter so Santa could find our house.

This year was really fun to see Dominic get so excited about everything he opened, including clothes. Katelynn asked for her birthday to have two American Girl Dolls, but we got her the second one for Christmas. It was Chrissa's friend from the movie, Gwen. Since Dominic had so much fun with Buddy at the cafe, we asked Katelynn if she wanted to give him Bitty Baby and we bought boy clothes for Bitty. He LOVED getting this and so glad he has his Buddy again! Dominic picked out an ornament for Katelynn this year and she was so happy to get something from him that she really liked. You will see the great hug that resulted.

One of my gifts was a snuggie which is great and Dan got a Kureg Coffee maker and we all have enjoyed that because we can do tea, coffee or hot chocolate. We enjoyed the rest of the time with Dan's family along with my extended family from PA.
