Last night we found out that Dom's biopsy results came back showing that his lesion is malignant. This afternoon we met with the Oncology team to get information on what to expect. First, Dom will need another biopsy of a lesion that concerned them last year to make sure that one hasn't turned malignant as well. Then he will undergo daily radiation for about 5 weeks and possible chemo. Then he will undergo surgery to remove the tumor and a portion of the femoral nerve.
Not news we were hoping for, but we have been able to realize the good so far. The fact that his team of doctors are experts and world renowned in this area. Even though MPNST is aggressive, they feel they have caught it early and it does not appear to have metastasize.
Please lift this up in prayer as it will be a journey but one we are ready to attack together. As named by Katelynn we are now officially The Dom Squad. He has such a support system. He has always been and continues to bring joy to so many in his path. Literally hundreds that he has touched throughout his life are praying for him and want to support him.
My nephew threw together this logo to be used. It is Dom in the middle from the picture below that was taken at Kings Dominion this past summer, then figures to represent his favorite things to play with, his Lego Ninjagos.
My nephew also took one of my favorite pics of him with his infectious smile and the "I am going to get this cancer" stance and added the Dom Squad.
A friend of ours took this old pic and added the words. That is our boy to a tee, he is such a fighter and he is ready to beat this!
